Let's Be Cops is a 2014 American buddy cop comedy film directed by Luke Greenfield and starring Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. The film follows two struggling friends, Ryan and Justin, who dress up as police officers for a costume party, but end up getting mistaken for real cops and decide to keep up the charade to improve their lives.

The movie starts with Ryan and Justin, two best friends who are struggling to find their footing in life. Ryan, a former college football star, is now working as an assistant in a video game company, while Justin is a struggling video game designer. They both feel stuck in their lives and long for a sense of purpose.

One day, they decide to attend a costume party dressed up as cops. At the party, they attract the attention of a group of real cops who mistake them for fellow police officers. Ryan and Justin quickly realize the power and respect that comes with being cops and decide to continue the charade, purchasing police uniforms and a police car off the internet.

Their fake police work starts off small, helping an old lady cross the street and breaking up a party. However, things quickly escalate when they get involved in a real criminal investigation, putting themselves in danger and risking their lives to save others. They also catch the attention of a dangerous mobster, who believes they are real cops and wants to take them down.

The film is filled with hilarious moments and witty one-liners, making it a laugh-out-loud comedy. The chemistry between Johnson and Wayans Jr. is excellent, and their comedic timing is spot on. The supporting cast, including Rob Riggle as a fellow cop and Nina Dobrev as a love interest, also adds to the film's humor and charm.

At its core, Let's Be Cops is a movie about friendship and the lengths people will go to in order to find purpose and meaning in their lives. Ryan and Justin's friendship is put to the test as they navigate their fake police work and deal with the consequences of their actions. The film also touches on issues of police brutality and corruption, adding a layer of depth to the story.

Overall, Let's Be Cops is a fun and entertaining movie that will keep you laughing from beginning to end. It's a great choice for a night in with friends or a casual movie night. The film's message about friendship and finding purpose is also a valuable one, making it a feel-good comedy that's both entertaining and meaningful.
